The Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter of Davis was established by the faith community to:
1) Provide emergency shelter and hospitality to homeless guests
2) Provide the faith community (and the wider Davis community) an opportunity to break down the socially-constructed barrier between the housed and un-housed.

Due to the immense dedication of the Board and volunteers, the IRWS is able to operate without paid staff. The overhead costs are intentionally kept to a minimum so that financial donations can be utilized for direct services to homeless guests. The IRWS typically spends ledd than $5,000/year to operate the shelter!
The IRWS has/is helping other cities to establish shelters modeled after the IRWS, including the City of Sacramento, the City of Sonora and Yuba City.
We invite you to join us in this amazing movement!
