BIRDS is a non-profit center that serves and empowers the Dahlits (Untouchable Caste), the poorest of the poor, through microfinance loans to women’s cooperatives, training of village health workers, legal rights advocacy, organic farming and water treatment advocacy, a health care clinic, a training center, and two boarding homes for poor children. BIRDS works in partnership with PCUSA Self-Development of People programs.

West Sacramento Latino Ministries

Goal: Reach out to Latinos in the West Sacramento area and build a church that reflects the diversity of the community.

In partnership with Sacramento Presbytery, Trinity Presbyterian Church is working to bridge language and cultural gaps that divide God’s people.  Led by Rev. Tina Torres, we are building a Latino ministry that will eventually be part of a bilingual and multicultural church in West Sacramento, CA.

Ring Praise Music Ministry

The mission of Ring Praise Music Ministry is to tell the saving story of Jesus Christ through music, scripture and hymn history.  The partnership of Phyllis Tincher on handbells and Sean Rogers on keyboard began in 2002 when Phyllis was asked to ring a solo at a church in Boise where Sean was the accompanist.

Good Life Club - Thai Christian Foundation

Goal: Bring love, faith and tools for a good life to the displaced people of Burma.

The Good Life Club is a mission program that connects children in the United States with internally displaced children inside Burma who have been driven from their homes by the Burma army.  When you participate in the Good Life Club, you are helping to keep the fire of hope alive in a place where there is very little reason to hope.  You are truly helping to bring the abundant life Christ came to bring.  This program is also appropriate for small groups, women's circles, youth groups, etc.

Adopt a Seminarian (San Francisco Theological Seminary)

Goal: Provide support to SFTS students studying to become pastors, educators and church leaders.

The SFTS "Adopt a Seminarian" program enables congregations and church-related organizations to "adopt" a seminarian. Here's a great way for your church or church group to meet one of the students at SFTS preparing to serve the church in Christ's name. Your gift of any amount will strengthen the Seminary's Student Support Fund, which provides resources for student financial aid, subsidized student housing, classrooms and faculty salaries. Sponsor a seminarian today, receive a student profile, and deepen your relationship with SFTS.

Kenya Children Mission Project

Goal: ongoing need
Deadlines: Ongoing period; annual 2-3 week trips in February

Lakeside Presbyterian Church (San Francisco) assists orphans and vulnerable children and their families (mainly destitute grandparents) in the town of Meru, Kenya.   Partnerning with Meru's Christian agencies and churches, this project provides these children with food, school fees/uniforms, healthcare and love, showing that we care about them

Out of the Box Food Ministries  (West Sacramento)

Goal: Provide food for families and individuals on the edge in West Sacramento.

Out of the Box Ministries started as a partnership between Trinity Presbyterian Church and a local elementary school to help families make it through the month – alleviating some of the pressure on the family and reducing conflicts with kids. Now we provide boxes of nourishing food to about 120 families each month.
